Our Omnibusters! More photos from the First Day of Filming
BE AN OMNIBUSTER!
On Saturday, Nov. 19, It Could Get Worse filmed 11 videos which we will be putting online this week to oppose the cruel omnibus crime bill C-10.
Here are just a few of the amazing outspoken Omnibusters who took a stand against criminalization, propaganda, and fear.
Marky Slutsky is our first Omnibuster with an IMDB entry! Long known for his pithy food writing and discerning film criticism, Mark’s recent film credits include the hilarious Peepers, and 2005’s The Recommendations. Check out his work on Vimeo here. “Call your MP and tell them that Bill C-10 is a waste of time, a waste of money, and it’s a waste of people’s lives.”
Eric Sicotte is fearless recruiter, networker, and the founder/CEO of Apollo l’Agence, whose Loft le 4ième hosted our video shoot. Eric is particularly appalled at how the Conservatives repealed the Long Gun registry, and yet claim that they are concerned with fighting crime. “Rather than deal with the real problems of poverty and discrimination, the Conservative government is inventing imaginary problems,” such as the crime problem, when in fact Canada’s crime rate is the lowest it has been in over 20 years. It Could Get Worse is grateful for Eric Sicotte‘s support in opposing the Omnibus Crime Bill C-10.
Jason C. McLean is a Montréal-based actor, writer and activist. He is the editor-in-chief and a co-founder of Forget The Box and also helped to found the Montreal Infringement Festival. Jason is also one of the people who helped get the It Could Get Worse project rolling. In his video, he speaks of how this bill will funamentally change the logical and compassionate approach to justice Canada is known for around the world.
Sign the petition, call your MP and tell them to vote NO on the Omnibus Crime Bill C-10: It Could Get Worse – Don’t let it!
